Features and benefits
Protect your agency’s staff, buildings, and property with Special Item Number SIN 541519CSP Credential Service Providers.
Per NIST, credential service providers are “trusted entities that issue or register subscriber authenticators and issue electronic credentials to subscribers.” CSPs, as part of the identity proofing process, collect evidence to reliably identify an applicant, or citizen. Once an applicant’s identity has been established, the CSP issues a credential. The federal government has adopted the Kantara Initiative definition of two types of CSPs that can be purchased:
- Full Service – CSPs that offer both Identity Assurance Level and Authentication Assurance Level services.
- Component Service – CSPs that offer an IAL or AAL service.
